Virtual Youth Clubs

Cumann na bhFiann creates a national network for young people to use and improve their spoken Irish in an informal setting outside the school system. This is achieved through the organisation of youth clubs, national and regional events, tours and activities.

Local Clubs – Nationwide

We are hoping to be allowed to re-open our Local Clubs in halls all over the country after 22/10/2021 when the next stage of the easing of restrictions is to be announced by the Government. As a first step in the process we will be opening a small amount of clubs on a trial basis from the beginning of November until Christmas. Our other Clubs will then re-open in 2022 but we will update this site when confirmed.

Virtual Clubs

Since the weekly youth clubs closed in early March 2020 due to COVID-19, we have organised Virtual Clubs online with 38 weekly Clubs taking place throughout 2021. From the feedback received, these Virtual Clubs proved very successful, giving the opportunity to young people to keep up with their spoken Irish during a time when this was not possible at school. Speaking Irish regularly is without doubt the best way to become fluent and confident in the language. Our Virtual Clubs are aimed at various age groups (10-12, 13-15, 16-18) with the numbers limited to ensure full participation by everyone. We are delighted to be launching our Registration for our next term, September to December 2021.
